Now at the moment, most of you are sending fractal and photography..
This group is aimed to promote art like this:
But we also promote artworks like this:
Now a lot of you are confused to where the balance is with the color/s and black.
You can see from what is currently in the folders to see what has previously been accepted; if your deviation does not match then reconsider if it should be submitted. Spot color is allowed too.
Spot color is when you have a monochrome drawing with a splash of color to highlight specific areas of the drawing. This is highly appreciated in the group.
Spot color is like this:
What if there is more than one color?
That is completely acceptable as long as it is clear what the main color is. There aren't any examples, but say if your character wears mostly black with red but they have a green shirt, that is completely accepted.
If the character has three colors evenly spread on their clothes and it doesn't have a 'main' color, that is not to the expectations.
So why can't I submit that to the Black-Rainbow folder instead?
Because when was the last time you saw a rainbow with three colors? BUDDYFORME is a perfect example of black with a balanced ratio to rainbow.
My request just expired, why?
Apologies, from this point on when a submission does not meet the requirements you will be declined and told why.
I just thought you would live a happier life thinking that it was forgotten than your art being declined.
Why are you so picky with submissions?
You have to think about two types of deviants in a group: Members and Watchers. Basically the members are contributors and watchers are the viewers.
It's hard getting a balance where both get what they want: views on art and art to view.
So long as your art has the right ratio of black with a color and is an artwork you put effort into, then you will be a happy contribor since the artwork is accepted and the viewers will be happy for art that fits their expectations of the group.
